Nutrion Month Celebration

Every year, in the month of July we celebrate the “Nutrition Month”, purposely to disseminate nutrion messages to all Filipinos throught a focal theme. For 2013 the theme is Gutom at Malnutrisyon, sama-sama nating wakasan.
The celebration aims to increase the awareness on hunger issues and action to mitigate hunger, to encourage government agencies, non- government organizations, private sector, civil society organizations and communities, to contribute in addressing hunger issues and to advocate for stronger political action to end hunger.
What is hunger?
Hunger is a condition in which people do not get enough food to provide the nutrients for fully productive, active and healthy lives (FAO). Prolonged hunger can lead to malnutrition and even death. Hunger is a form of food insecurity. There is no hunger when there is food security or when all people, at all times, have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food which meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.
So in order to participate in this celebration we must always be healthy to avoid sickness, disease, and ECT.
